Fourth Sunday of Advent

As the birth of a child draws near attention focuses on his mother. Since we are nearing the celebration of the birth of Christ, it is no surprise to find that Mary is at the centre of today’s Gospel. Mary’s only concern was to do the will of God. She will help us when we pray to her.

We hope and pray that you are settled and happy in your new country. We miss you and will be thinking of you in the Christmas Season.

Thank You and Good Wishes.  Fr. Dan thanks you sincerely for your generosity and loyalty to Rosbercon   Parish during 2017. May Christmas be wonderful for you and your family and may Our Lord grant you many blessings during 2018.

Reflection

The light has come on in our streets and in our homes in preparation for Christmas.

Light is a very appropriate symbol of Christmas.

The coming of the Saviour is described in the Scriptures as the coming of a great light,

A light that no darkness can overpower.

Lord, may we welcome you as the light of the world.

May your light shine in our hearts

And be reflected in our words and deeds this Christmas.

Wisdom:  Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death.

Humour: The religion teacher was explaining to her class the difference between right and wrong. ‘All right  children, let’s take an example. If I were to put my hand into a man’s pocket and take his wallet, what would I be?’ Little Johnny raised his hand and blurted ‘His wife.’

St Josephs Athletic Club

The annual St Stephens Day St Josephs Athletic Club family fun run will take place at the Pink Rock on next Tuesday at 12 noon.
