Theme of the Weekend Readings: God works wonders for his people.
First Reading: God is as close to us as a bridegroom to a bride.
Second Reading: A community has need of the gift and talent of its members.
Gospel: The story of the wedding feast of Cana.
Wednesday & Friday: 9.30am.

The Rosbercon Parish Pastoral Council Committee would like to thank all the parishioners who so kindly contributed to The Annual Christmas Giving Tree. On Sunday 13th January 2019 the gifts were distributed to the residents in the Community and New Houghton Hospitals in New Ross. The Rosbercon Folk Choir sang ballads for the residents. The gifts and entertainment was enjoyed and appreciated by all. This annual event could not be a success without your generosity. A Happy New Year to all.
Rosbercon Parish Safeguarding Representatives are Brid Vereker, Millbanks Close and Anne O’ Sullivan, Ballykenna. If you have a Safeguarding concern, contact Brid or Anne.
Parishioners who wish to make their contributions to the Parish/Priest of Rosbercon for 2019 by Standing Order can do so by giving their name to Fr. Dan. People may find this facility useful as it eliminates all envelopes and also simplifies parish administration.

A Pilgrim’s Aiding – An Ancient Celtic Blessing
God be with us in every pass.
Jesus be with us on every hill.
Spirit be with us on every stream,
Headland, ridge and valley.
Each sea and land, each moor and meadow
Each lying down, each rising up.
In the trough of the waves
on the crest of the billows
each step of the journey we go
O Lord, each heart you know. Amen.
Wisdom “Our Heavenly Father never takes anything from his children unless he means to give them something better.”
Humour: Struggling to make ends meet, the newly ordained vicar was annoyed when his wife spent €250 on a dress. ‘How could you spend so much? he asked. ‘Well I was in a store looking at this lovely dress and then I found myself trying it on ‘she explained. ‘It was like Satan was whispering in my ear, ‘you look fabulous in that dress. ‘Buy it.’ ‘Well’ the vicar replied ‘could you not have said get behind me Satan!’ ‘I did’ she replied ‘but then he said ‘it looks fabulous from the back too!’
