The Mass of Chrism will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny on Wednesday 17th April 7.30 p.m. At the Chrism Mass we bless the oils used in the celebration of Sacraments in our parish for the year ahead. All those in attendance at this Mass will renew their Baptismal promises and priests will also reaffirm their ministry by renewing the promises made at their Ordination. All those who are involved in the life of our parishes (Readers, Ministers of the Eucharist, Sacristans, those who serve on Finance Committee, Choirs and All Others) are invited to attend. We encourage you to come along to this Diocesan Celebration. Following it, there will be refreshments in the Cathedral Chapter House and all are welcome.
Please note that the Trocaire Boxes or Envelopes should be returned to the Church on Holy Thursday. We ask that you continue to be generous to the poor of the world.
Trocaire: The focus of this year’s Trocaire Lenten Campaign is on ‘Joining the Fight for Justice’. We are all asked to play our part! We are asked to do without something each day so that what we save can be donated to charities like Trocaire.

The Presence of God
“Yet sometimes when the sun comes through a gap,
These men see God the Father in a tree.
The Holy Spirit is the rising sap,
And Christ will be the green leaves that will come
At Easter from the sealed and guarded tomb”.
Patrick Kavanagh, The Great Hunger

Mullinarrigle: Sunday 21st April at 9.30am:
Anne Ryan, Listerlin
The quality of mercy is not strain’d;
It is dropped as the gentle rain from heaven
upon the place beneath.
It is twice blessed;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
‘Tis mightiest in the mighty;
It becomes the throned monarch better than his crown.
It is enshrined in the hearts of kings.
It is an attitude of God himself.
And earthly power doth then show likest God’s
when mercy seasons justice.
Therefore, though justice be thy plea, consider this-
that in the course of justice
none of us shall see salvation.
We do pray for mercy,
and the same prayer doth teach us all
to render the seeds of mercy
Wisdom: The ultimate tragedy is not the brutality of bad people but the silence of good people
