We would like to invite all those who serve in our parishes to come along to this gathering. We are inviting our Ministers of the Word, Choirs, Parish Councils, Finance Committees, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and all those who minister in our Parish to attend.

The Diocese of Ossory will host a wonderful Family Fun Day at St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny on Sunday 5th May 2019. There will be Hurling and Camogie, Children’s  Entertainment, Puck Fada, Sacred Space Arty Workshops, Music Workshops and lots more. All are invited to attend and have a great day.

Just a thought: It’s here! May, the month in which the earth springs into bloom and we start thinking about planting   gardens, family picnics, and making holiday plans. It’s also the Month of Mary. For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honour Mary, Mother of God. We do it because Mary is Mother – your mother, my mother, everyone’s mother – and because she cares for all of us day-in-and-day-out without fail, interceding for us in even the tiniest matters. For that, she deserves an entire month in her honour.

Mass Intentions for the Saturday/Sunday,

11th/12th May 2019

Rosbercon: Saturday 11th May at 6.30pm:

Michael Curran, Hoodsgrove, 2nd Anniversary

Thomas and Teresa Hendrick, Flowerhill

Gerry Hennessy, Marshmeadows & formerly Glensensaw

Reflection

Jesus: Life’s Companion

All through life’s day, you walk with us, Lord.

But often we don’t recognise you,

for we are preoccupied by work and worry,

Anxiety, confusion and just being busy.

And so Jesus remains a stranger to us.

Before this day’s end we will ask many questions,

Experience many joys and disappointments.

And then, suddenly, whether we are young, middle-aged or old,

We will find that night is approaching.

In that moment we pray,

that, like the disciples on the road to Emmaus,

Our eyes will be opened, and that we will recognise Jesus.

For Jesus makes the journey of life with us.

And Jesus will not vanish from our sight,

But stay with us to guide us to the end of the day.

Wisdom – Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die,

Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly;

Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go,

Life is a barren field, frozen with snow

Humour: When asked why she always bowed her head when Satan was mentioned, the old woman replied ‘It costs nothing to be polite.’
