The Mission of the Church in Changing Times: As the number of priests decline, the new Mass schedule must allow the reduced number of priests to cover Masses in neighbouring parishes. A new schedule of Masses will be introduced across the Diocese on the First Sunday of Advent 2019.
The Sunday schedule in Rosbercon Parish will remain the same, with Mass in Listerlin at 9.30am and in Rosbercon at 11am. On Saturday evenings, Rosbercon will have Mass on the second and fourth Saturday of each month while Glenmore will have Mass on the first, third and fifth Saturday. These Masses will be celebrated at 7pm. Tullogher will have Mass on the Saturday of the first Sunday of each month, also at 7pm. At the beginning of each month those who attend Mass in Tullogher will be able to celebrate the anniversaries of their loved ones which occur that month. A special devotion will be provided.
We are very happy that Students from Our Lady of Lourdes School will be attending daily Mass in Rosbercon Church every Thursday morning 9.45am. We welcome the students and their presence at Mass is a blessing for the Parish.

The usual distributors are asked to oblige and we thank them for doing this work on behalf of the parish.

The New School Year
The silent school all summer waits
So quiet and still behind the gates.
But now the gates are open wide
And all the teachers crowd inside.
As they prepare to start their day,
The staffroom kettle steams away.
The children come from far and near,
Some Junior Infants shed a tear!
It’s time to start the new school year.
There will be laughter, joy and fun
And also homework to be done!
And dressing up for Halloween
And sums like 10 + 17,
And Circle Time and Show and Tell
And running when you hear the bell,
And Christmas Carols in the hall
Perhaps a little snow may fall!
And spelling tests and still more sums
And asking ‘An bhfuil cead agam?’
Until at last the summer comes.
And then we’ll go our separate ways
To start the summer holidays.
But in all we do, and all we say,
May God be with us every day.
Humour: When the new euro came to Ireland and the old money died, all the old notes and coins went to heaven. The coins were all welcomed and given fine accommodation. The notes were given far simpler quarters and complained to St. Peter. He replied, ‘I’ve seldom seen any of you around the church!.’
