Sacrament of the Sick and First Friday Visits to the Housebound.
The sick and housebound of the parish are attended by Fr Dan in their homes on the First Friday of every month and on request. If you know someone who would like to receive communion on the First Friday please contact Fr Dan.
Many of those visited receive the Sacrament of the Sick on the First Friday.
Lay Ministers of the Eucharist are also available to distribute Holy Communion to the sick on Sundays and in time of need.
The Healing Stone, which was unveiled as part of the Eucharistic Congress Opening Ceremony, has been installed as permanent feature at Lough Derg in Donegal. Carved from Wicklow granite, the text on the headstone reads –
Lord we are sorry for what some of us did top your children;
Treated them so cruelly, especially in their hour of need
We have left them with a lifelong suffering.
This was not your plan for them or us.
Please help us to help them.
Guide us, Lord, Amen
A Special Mass with Anointing of the Sick for the ‘Over 55s’ of the parish was celebrated in Rosbercon Parish Hall on Sunday 9th December at 3.00 p.m. followed by a reception and music. The Mass and Reception were very well attended. The Mass was very prayerful and we thank Trudy Power and Breda Nolan for their catering which was much appreciated.
A Novena of Masses for the Holy Souls was offered during the month of November. The November Offering Envelopes, which contain a sheet for the names of deceased family and friends, were distributed to the homes of the parish. The names of the dead will be placed in the Memorial Box in front of the altars of the three parish Churches for the month of November.
